Current Openings

Madison EMS is accepting applications for EMT and Paramedic positions on a rolling basis. We’re looking for committed individuals ready to serve the Madison community with professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence.

Basic Qualifications

To join our team, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or recognized equivalent
  • Valid EMT or Paramedic certification/license
  • For Paramedics: Must have or be able to obtain Yale-New Haven Center for EMS Paramedic Medical Authorization
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background investigation
  • Ability to pass post-offer physical exam, physical demand screening, and drug/alcohol screening

All certifications and licenses must be valid at the time of application, hiring, and throughout employment. Maintaining these valid credentials is a condition of continued employment.

Work Environment and Schedule

Madison EMS operates with 12-hour shifts, allowing employees to work up to 36 hours consecutively. Our providers respond to over 2,200 calls annually throughout Madison, ensuring 24/7 emergency medical coverage for our community. In addition to providing EMS services to the Town of Madison, Madison EMS has mutual aid agreements with surrounding towns, including Guilford, Branford, Clinton, Killingworth, Durham, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. These agreements enable the provision of BLS transport, ALS transport, and Paramedic Intercept services as requested.

Professional Development

At Madison EMS, we’re committed to your growth as an emergency medical professional. We host regular in-house training opportunities, including monthly Continuing Medical Education (CME) classes, ensuring our providers stay current with their skills and knowledgeable about the latest advancements in emergency medicine.
